Bhaderwah fort is only 3 km away from the main Bhaderwah town. The view from the top of the fort gives a magnificent view of the whole Bhaderwah Valley which is called as the “mini Switzerland” by the tourists who have traveled the world over.

This Bhaderwah Fort, with its up-do-date LED base light & sound system, stays a step ahead from other forts. This ancient fort fondly remembers the former kings of Bhaderwah and Chamba. Constructed in the year 1733, it also gave shelter to many freedom fighters like Sant Singh Teg, Pt. Kashyap Bandu and then the ex-Chief Minister Shri Sheikh Muhammad Abdulla.

In 1919 this fort was converted into a jail for the freedom fighters but now this heritage is slowly vanishing. This is a great heritage site of whole Chenab valley and it is a major attraction for the tourists.
