Standing at around 2,800 feet it is the entry gate to the Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra. Located just about 1 mk from the bus stand, from here onwards the tourists can get a complete view of the Trikuta Mountain. The mythological records say that Mata Vaishno Devi met Pandit Sridhar right at this point taking the form of a girl child.

The Darshani Darwaza symbolizes just one gate but in fact there are two gates at this point. The older leads to a flight of stairs and the newly built gate have a colonnaded porch and space for parking private vehicles. The Indian Army’s assistance counter is also located nearby the Darwaza. Reaching this is not a problem as one can easily walk the distance on foot or hire a vehicle. Using of self-driven vehicle is also allowed but the parking is at owner’s risk. It is advised to lock the vehicle carefully and not storing any valuables whatsoever.
