Khanaqah
Khanqah of Shah Hamadan, also known by the other names as Khanqah Mosque, Shah Hamadan Masjid, Khanqah-e-Moula and so on, is one of the oldest Muslim Shrines in Kashmir. It is ideally situated on right bank of the River Jhelum. This ancient mosque was built in 1395 by Shah Sikandar in the memory of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamdani, better known as Shah Hamdan, a preacher from City of Hamdan in Persia. With aesthetically designed wooden structure, antique chandelier, carved hanging bells, the mosque fascinates tourists of all faiths to witness its rich legacy. On the day of death anniversary of Mir Syaed Ali Hamdani, devotees in large numbers visit the shrine to pay tribute to the saint.
